BMW Italia Evo rider Sylvain Barrier escaped with just a broken left heel in his horrific-looking race-two crash at the Laguna Seca World Superbike round.
The Frenchman, who returned to action at the Misano round after a car crash that left him in a coma, was spat off his S1000RR on the exit of the final turn and his bike carried him into the pitwall.
"We are all devastated by what happened to Sylvain. After what had happened in the previous months did not expect that you could check another accident and a fall from a really weird dynamic. Fortunately, it seems that, apart from a broken heel, our pilot has not reported other consequences, and then we just have to wait for his recovery. We will be close even at this juncture, make sure that you recover soon and in the best way,” said team director Gerardo Acocella.
