Bimota will not be allowed to take part in the final three World Superbike races of the year after failing to meet homologation targets set by the FIM.
The Italian manufacturer had to produce 125 of their BMW-powered BB3 machines in order to continue racing but informed the FIM that had not happened so they are excluded until such time that the target is reached.
The exclusion means Britain’s Christian Iddon will not have anything to race this season unless the Alstare Junior team prepares a second bike for him to ride in British Superbikes.
