Britain’s Leon Haslam could make a switch to a rumoured new Alstare Aprilia squad in World Superbikes next season.

The Derbyshire rider has a long association with Alstare boss Francis Batta who is in the frame to run the works Aprilia WSBK team now that Aprilia boss Romano Albesiano has hooked up with Fausto Gresini in MotoGP.

Alvaro Bautista and Marco Melandri are slated to move into the blue riband class with Gresini which leaves the World Superbike effort with at least two rider spots to fill.

Sylvain Guintoli kept his place in the team this year as his contract stipulated another year if he finished the 2013 in the top three and he has performed this year so Haslam could have the Frenchman as a team-mate.
