Aragon WSBK: Stapleford making plans for private Supersport entry

Reigning British Supersport Champion Luke Stapleford is making plans to enter his own team at the Assen World Supersport round after splitting with the CAI Honda squad at Motorland Aragon.

Stapleford is trying to get an entry on the Profile Triumph with which he won the British title last year at the Dutch race after some ‘behind the scenes’ problems with Buckmaster’s Louth-based squad.

“There were some things going on behind the scenes, so we thought it would be best to make a clean break. We are trying to get an entry for Assen on the Triumph I used last year and (FIM Technical Director) Scott Smart is helping us but if that doesn’t happen, it’s back to the drawing board,” said Stapleford.
