The jungle drums tell us that there is going to be SOME VERY BIG NEWS from Triumph this season. But you don’t need to be a clairvoyant to spot that these aren’t it. Hinckley’s worked up another few variations on its 900cc air-cooled twin range, and these are they: the Street Cup and the T100 Bonneville.
The Street Cup is based on the Street Twin, with more of a plush café-racer feel. The engine is the same lowly-tuned lump, pumping out a Harley-esque 55bhp, albeit pushing a non-Harley-esque 200kg wet. You get a nice new seat, windscreen, fancy paint and even a USB socket to keep your tortoiseshell vaping pipe charged up on the road.
The T100 is a new, cheaper, entry-level variant on the standard T120 Bonnie, aimed at new riders and folk on a budget. It’s Bonneville style, but with the smaller 900cc motor rather than the 1200 lump in the T120. So you get the 55bhp motor, for better or worse, in a Bonnie-a-like chassis. Also available in a ‘Black’ version, with a more monochrome look.
All these bikes are also available in A2 licence form, for new riders restricted to A2 power outputs.
More prices and info anon, probably at the NEC show.
