We’re prepared to admit that the idea of a touring MV Agusta maybe doesn’t sound like the best idea in the world. And we’re also prepared to admit that the idea of a ‘race replica’ touring bike may not sound like untrammelled genius.
So this ‘RC’ Reparto Corse version of Agusta’s Turismo Veloce Lusso is a doubly bad idea then? Well no! Not entirely anyway… Luckily, we got a spin on the TVL earlier this year, and it’s a cracking bike. The 800cc triple motor is a corker, the bike is laden with top-notch electrickery, and it’s even pretty comfortable and practical for moderately heavy touring duties. We’d not like to take on an Iron Butt Rally on one or anything, but for a summer jaunt round Scotland or to the Cote d’Azur, you could do far far worse.
The RC version is a bit of a stretch – but the Camier-replica paintjob is undeniably pretty, and you also get some forged alloy rims, which is never a bad thing. There’s a slew of detail updates too, including a tweaked passenger seat, some carbon bodywork, and the motor has had some refining changes to the top end to cut noise and improve civility.
Only 250 will be made! Although we don’t expect them to sell out like half-priced mince pies in Greggs at 4pm, you’ll be advised to give your dealer a shout should you fancy pulling the trigger on one…
