WorldSBK spec-tyre supplier Pirelli will being a new Superpole qualifying hoop to this weekend’s Imola round which has already undergone testing at Aragon.
Pirelli believe the new tyre should be faster than its predecessor due to new compound but still last three laps. However, it needs more evaluation under competition conditions at different circuits.
Riders will also get a new soft rear to try at the technical Italian track on top of two more rear options while at the front five will be available.
For the front, the complete standard range will be available with the soft SC1, the medium SC2 and the hard SC3, in addition to two SC1 development solutions: the V1271, tried by the riders for the first time during the official testing session in Aragon and afterwards used during the Assen round, and the V0952, already taken to Aragon and Assen, featuring the same SC1 standard compound but with different structural solutions.
At the back, two soft solutions and a medium one: together with the standard soft SC0 the new V0602 development solution will also be available, featuring a compound in the SC0 area and tried by the riders at Aragon. The third option will be the V1199, already used at Assen and providing an SC1 compound with specific structural characteristics.
