2017 NW200: ‘Lots more to come’ says Suzuki’s Dunlop

Ballymoney’s Michael Dunlop finished the first day of Superbike practice at the Vauxhall North West 200 in third place and says that he needs as much bike time as he can get on the new Suzuki GSX-R1000R.

Dunlop was one of the last riders on track in the delayed session but soon had his head down to set a 120.655mph lap. Dunlop is the outright lap record holder with a 123.207 effort set in last year’s first Superbike race.

“I did my best time on the last lap. We made some changes half way through the session but they didn’t sort the problem we had,” he said.

“I need as much time on the bike as I can get. But we aren’t a million miles away after today and there is still a lot more to come from me and the bike.”
