Alastair Seeley claimed his second pole position at the North West 200 on Thursday with a lap of 116.812mph seeing him top the timesheets in the Supersport class on the Gearlink Kawasaki.
Having set provisional pole on Tuesday, the Carrickfergus rider improved his lap by five seconds to end the session 1.2s clear of closest challenger Lee Johnston (Jackson Racing Honda) who was the only other rider to lap in excess of 116mph.
Michael Dunlop put in a late charge on the MD Racing Yamaha to claim the final spot on the front row, his lap of 115.751mph edging out Martin Jessopp who lapped at 115.530mph on the Riders Motorcycles Triumph.
That meant Dean Harrison, second quickest on Tuesday on the Silicone Engineering Kawasaki, dropped back to fifth with James Hillier moving up a place from seventh to sixth on the JG Speedfit Kawasaki to complete the second row.
Peter Hickman was another rider to put in a late flyer on the Trooper Beer by Smiths Triumph to jump up from 21st to seventh with Ian Hutchinson (McAMS Yamaha) and William Dunlop (Caffrey International Yamaha) joining him on the third row.
The top ten was completed by Adam McLean, the Northern Ireland youngster going great guns on the MSS Kawasaki and ahead of veterans John McGuinness (Jackson Racing/Bet Victor Honda) and Bruce Anstey (Padgetts Honda) in 11th and 12th respectively. Guy Martin was unable to break into the top twenty on the Wilson Craig Honda.
