MXGP: ‘Not the time for crazy stuff’ - Cairoli

MXGP points leader Tony Cairoli enjoyed his scrap with Red Bull KTM team-mate Jeffrey Herlings at Lommel but said he had the championship in mind.

Cairoli left Belgium with a 2-2 overall and increased his lead to almost 100 points with five race weekends left to run as Herlings overhauled Clement Desalle for second place.

“For sure Jeffrey is one of the fastest in the world in this type of ground. We had some good racing and Glenn was also very fast in the first moto. We are almost near the end of the season so we have to think about the championship now and it is time to look at the points and not do crazy stuff,” said the Sicilian.

“We had some good battles in that second moto but for sure he was more motivated to get the win so congrats to him. Switzerland is one of my favourite tracks so I’m really looking forward to this race.”
