Manx GP newcomers told to behave or go home

Isle of Man TT clerk of the course Gary Thompson has issued a stern warning to Manx Grand Prix newcomers after six riders crashed on the opening practice day.

Thompson has said that if behaviour doesn’t improve in forthcoming practice session, those responsible will be going home much earlier than they thought.

“I did have a one-way conversation with all the newcomers yesterday. The speed controlled lap was great, they all followed the control rider, and indications from around the course were they were all doing what the should do,” said Gary Thompson.

“When they went out on their own lap, we had indications that some had not slowed down where they should, four abreast into Ballacraine, just stupid stuff you would think twice about doing on a short circuit, never mind the TT course.

“They were all warned that if the stupid behaviour didn’t change, a few of them would be going home rather soon."
