Magny-Cours WorldSBK: 'My rear brake fell off' – Laverty

Eugene Laverty had a ‘day to forget’ at Magny-Cours after the rear brake fell off his Go Eleven Ducati Panigale in the second WorldSBK race.

Laverty had posted his fastest lap of the weekend in the morning’s Superpole race and was looking forward to a top-ten finish in the afternoon but his back brake fell off on lap one, so any chances of a points haul were dashed.

“It was a very disappointing Sunday with two results outside of the top 10. In the Superpole race I posted my fastest lap of the weekend but it still wasn’t enough,” said Laverty.

“In the final race the setting felt a small step better but unfortunately the rear brake system fell off at turn 11 on lap one.

“From there on I found it difficult to stop and turn the bike in the fluid sections of the track. It was a day to forget.”
