British Superbike Evo series leader Alex Lowes has split with his WFR Honda team after contractural talks broke down.
The Lincolnshire man was riding for the team without a formal contract and, according to team boss Myles Schofield, couldn't commit to signing one so they 'have had to withdraw the ride'.
“I am very disappointed that we have not been able to reach an agreement. Contract terms are often viewed differently between those involved, and although we have done our best to explain what we feel is a fair and equitable agreement, it seems Alex is not able to commit. As such, we have today withdrawn our offer of the ride and Alex is now free to negotiate his own position," he said.
It is believed Lowes was offered a ten-year contract which he unsurprisingly refused to sign. Attempts to contact him have so far been unsuccessful, probably because he is in the gym...
