Tyco Honda's Tommy Bridewell says he is disappointed with his performance at the Brands Hatch British Superbike opener even though he stood on the podium for only the second time in his career.
The strawberry blonde Devizes rider, who managed not to swear on Eurosport, nipped underneath Stuart Easton to bag third place in the opening leg but then got a bit giddy with it in the second outing, touching the grass with his rear wheel and jumping off.
"I was really pleased with the first race and to get mine and the team's first outright BSB podium was fantasic and reward for all the hard work we have put in, In race two, I got a bad start and we were running really close to the white line along the back straight all weekend," said Bridewell.
"With a couple of laps to go, I just went a little way over the white line and as soon as I touched the brake I went straight down on the grass. I'm really disappointed as I really needed those points but we have made good progress this weekend."
