Oxford TAG Triumph's Richard Cooper stormed to his debut Motorpoint British Supersport victory in emphatic style, five second ahead of Alastair Seeley, who closed the gap on Stuart Easton to just four points in the championship after the wee Scotsman finished outside of the top ten.
Cooper took the holeshot, rolling around the outside of Billy McConnell, and didn't look back opening out a five second advantage at the front of the race after just four laps. Behind the battle raged on for the final two places on the podium. Gearlink Kawasaki's Alastair Seeley battled his way through to second before being pushed backwards to fifth place.
The Northern Irishman first passed Luke Jones to take fourth before drafting past the Smiths Triumph's pair of Billy McConnell and Glen Richards down the back straight to jump back into second. He then posted consecutive fastest laps of the race but Cooper was too far ahead to challenge for the twenty-five points. He came across the line in second place, pulling back fifteen points on Stuart Easton who struggled home in eleventh place after being placed under investigation for smoke halfway through the race. With now one race remaining, Easton leads by four points.
T3 Racing's Luke Jones got the better of Billy McConnell on the last lap at Sheene Curve to take third place, his first podium of the year. McConnell was happy to take fourth, however, as it confirmed third place in the championship for the Adelaide rider due to Ben Wilson being out injured.
Samsung Honda's Jason O'Halloran came home in fifth place ahead of fellow Aussie Glen Richards. CF Motorsport's Glenn Irwin won the battle for seventh, beating Graeme Gowland, Taylor Mackeznie and Danny Buchan to the nine points.
