Former British Superbike and MotoGP star Sean Emmett is making a one-off return to racing this weekend, taking part in the Metzeler National Superstock race in place of Rhys Boyd whose Kawasaki ZX-10R he is riding.
The ex-paddock wildchild last raced in the Harley-Davidson Trophy last year and, after helping Boyd to setup his race bike at Silverstone, decided to have another ride out in competition.
"I was helping Rhys set-up his bike at Silverstone and found I was as quick as him so he asked me if I would like to have a ride out at Brands on the big Kawasaki," said Emmett, speaking to bikesportnews.com this morning.
"We should be good enough to qualify in the top ten or thereabouts. It's a bit of fun and if it goes well, I might think about doing some more rounds later in the season."
