Brands BSB: Final race win declares Seeley Supersport Champion

Relentless Suzuki's Alastair Seeley took the 2011 Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship Title with a race win at Brands Hatch; putting him a mere one point ahead of the Gearlink Kawasaki's Ben Wilson.

Seeley came from third to first, Wilson from fifth to second in front of pole position man Iddon. Immediately at Druids Wilson went straight for the front and was not giving in till he got it; the only thing that was known was for him to win the championship he had to finish ahead of Seeley. It wasn't long till Kennedy was back on form as he took third away from Iddon, who was followed by Stapleford.

After a couple of laps it wasn't just Wilson and Seeley battling for the lead, but also Kennedy. Seeley started to look for a way around, their bikes almost touched. Meanwhile Iddon had started to close in as well. Seeley eventually found a way past Wilson but not for long. Literally half a lap later they exchanged places twice again.

On lap five Seeley finally made a move on Wilson that stuck, with the current positions Seeley would win by a mere one point. Seeley visibly was trying to make a break and even though the gap between of eight tenths of a second, the biggest yet, it was thought to be far from over; Wilson was still in touch.

Wilson had a moment coming out of Hawthorne as he tried to bridge the gap, but again still stayed in touch. A lap later Seeley had increased the gap so Seeley at this point started to win the title battle. As the laps increased so did his advantage of 2.3s as he crossed the finish line.

Along with British Superbikes this series has been the most enthrawling this year for many reasons but the biggest two being Seeley and Wilson; both genuine deserving riders who are different in riding style and characters with extreme talent but finally the battle was settled.

Kennedy took another podium in third ahead of Iddon and Bournemounth Kawasaki's Stapleford. 777 RR Motorsport's Pauli Pekkanen finished sixth after starting from 10th in the grid, Oxford TAG Triumph's Billy McConnell securing his third place overall in the series. The Smiths Gloucester Racing's Matthew Whitman who came from 19th ahead of Paul Young also of Oxford Tag Triumph with Daniel Cooper of Smith's Gloucester finishing in 10th.

In the cup series Hornsey Racing's Sam Hornsey took the win in 18th ahead Double 'M' Racing's David Paton who had to settle for second this time in 18th followed by IDAQ.com's Paul Curran in 20th. John Simpson of Trickbits took the Cup title of 2011, Paton and Hornsey took second and third.
