Tommy Hill, Shane Byrne and Josh Brookes dominated the MCE British Superbike podium at Brands Hatch yesterday and all three have now cemented their places in the 2012 Showdown title fight.

Byrne's double win means he leapfrogs Aussie Brookes in the championship table and closes down Hill's lead to 11 points but the reigning champion is still ahead in the fight for podium credits with three more than Byrne and Brookes a further six adrift.

Michael Laverty is in a reasonaly-safe fourth place while the scrap for the last two spots is realistically between Tommy Bridewell, Noriyuki Haga, Ian Lowry, Chris Walker, Alex Lowes and Alastair Seeley. The latter three are covered by two points but 21 behind current sixth-placed man Haga.
