Brands BSB: Oil leak puts paid to Brookes' challenge

Relentless Suzuki's Josh Brookes was forced out of yesterday's final British Superbike race at Brands Hatch by a tiny oil leak and had to watch from the sidelines.

The Aussie won the opening race of the weekend in mixed conditions on Saturday and then had to fight his way from 13th to sixth in the second race. He is still fifth in the title chase and 11 points ahead of 2010 team-mate Ryuichi Kiyonari.

"I feel bad for the team tonight. They always work so hard and for a tiny oil leak to end our race - after all the hard work - is disappointing. Bitter and sweet is how I'd describe this weekend. I did try very hard but sometimes you just need that little bit of luck too. I'm happy with race two where I came from 13th to sixth but it doesn't change the fact that it was only sixth when we are looking for podiums," said the Bringelly man.
