British Supersport title contenders Ben Wilson and Alastair Seeley gave spectators at Brands Hatch two of the best races in the history of the series over the weekend and only the slimmest of margins separated the two.
Relntless Suzuki's Seeley emerged victorious in both but was pushed hard by the Gearlink Kawasaki of Wilson, with the pair rubbing elbows at 120mph on the way into Druids during race two on Sunday afternoon. In Satruday's opener, Seeley crossed the line first by just 0.019s and the gap was 0.030 in Sunday's thriller.
“I really enjoyed that tussle with Ben and although there was some contact it wasn’t dangerous and reminded me of my motocross days. Rubbin’ is racin’ as they say and although the lap times were not spectacular we got the job done. I’m now looking forward to moving on to Cadwell Park and keeping the pressure on. This championship is far from over yet," said the Irishman.
Linconshire rider Wilson added: "I am a little disappointed with second place each time. After taking the lead in the sprint race I made a mistake and that let Seeley back through. In the second race I just could not shake him off and we battled on to the end. It was an exciting race and we were just about equal but on the run to the flag he just got the edge on me and took the win. We now move on to Cadwell Park where I will be putting in 100% effort to recoup the 10 points lost to Seeley this weekend and maintain my lead in the run up to the championship finale."
