Millsport Ducati’s Jakub Smrz had a ‘positive’ MCE British Superbike test at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit after clocking a solid 46.4798 lap without changing his tyres for the whole one hour session.
The former World Superbike contender completed over thirty laps – and at one point was third quickest during testing this afternoon. But Smrz is not getting ahead of himself and still wants to improve ‘little things’ on his Ducati before the main race on Monday.
“I don’t really enjoy this short track but the first session was going ok – and we used one set of tyres and still managed a top ten time, but there is still a long way to go,” said Smrz, speaking to bikesportnews.com.
“We only used one set of tyres as we had a lot of things to try on the bike, and we felt that we didn’t need to use another pair of fresh tyres.
“At the moment we still have many things to improve - only little things but I really like the bike. I enjoy working with the team and they are very good men too!”
