Quattro Plant Kawasaki’s Dan Linfoot didn’t realise that a crash in the previous MCE British Superbike test session at Snetterton bent the steering stem on his ZX-10R which caused problems at Brands Hatch Indy circuit this afternoon.
The problem with the bike only arose today when he found it difficult ride out on track. But the bike is now fixed and Linfoot is pleased that he manged to get a top ten time - even with the issues.
“It was great to get a top ten considering the problems that we had halfway through the session so it is quite positive – so it’s looking good for the rest of the weekend,” said Linfoot, speaking to bikesportnews.com.
Unfortunately I crashed the bike at the end of the testing session in Snetterton and we didn’t know until that last session here at Brands that we had another problem with the bike after the crash.
“The steering stem was a little bit bent which caused some problems with the steering out on track and I was struggling – but that is fixed now. I am quite happy I am gelling with the new team and with the Kawasaki and the bike is fast, and it has a new engine.”
