HM Plant Honda British Superbike pairing Josh Brookes and Glen Richards have been testing a standard Fireblade at Croft Circuit today in preparation for the British Superbike round there in 10 days' times.
Both the riders will be back in their black and orange leathers at the Darlington track, with Brookes saying he was pleasantly surprised by the circuit's flowing nature.
"I had watched some videos of the place from a year or so ago when Leon was riding and it looked a little bit daggy," said Brookes, speaking to bikesportnews.com this evening.
"But I was really surprised by how flowing it is, especially the section from Tower to Sunny Out. I reckon I did about 40 laps before we ran out of tyre and petrol, and then it started to rain.
"I am looking forward to getting back on the grid and giving Leon (Camier) a race. We have spoken about it and he would rather have a race than be out in front on his own, so hopefully I can take that to him."
Speaking on behalf of Richards, who was driving the van, Brookes added that his fellow Aussie did about 20 laps of the track and felt reasonably comfortable but needs more strength in his leg, which was broken in a crash at Knockhill.
