Brookes puts pen to paper with Tyco Suzuki for BSB 2012

Australian star Josh Brookes has put pen to paper with TAS Suzuki for another year and today, at Motorcycle Live, the team announced they would run under Tyco colours for the 2012 British Superbike season.

Brookes will do another year with the squad as he believes consistency is the key to taking the title. After a 2011 that began slowly, he found his form towards the middle of the season and went on to set the fastest ever lap of Brands Hatch at the finale. No news is forthcoming on a team-mate for Brookes, however.

"I'm so excited to sign with TAS again with our new sponsors Tyco. The blue and white colours look amazing and, to be honest, I'm glad to get the news out of the way as I have been trying to keep it a secret for a while," said Brookes, speaking to bikesportnews.com at the show.

"It's another season on the same bike with the same crew and if we start next season with the momentum we finished this one we are in with a great chance of the title. It took a while this year for me to really show my form on the Suzuki but that was after a lot of years with another manufacturer. It took me a little time to find my feet and get comfortable on the bike.

"With the fastest lap at Brands, that gave us the momentum to chase the dream of being British Superbike Champions because we know we have got the speed now and we have a full season ahead of us with, I suppose, a trial year behind us."
