Byrne ‘positive’ after Knockhill BSB test

Reigning MCE British Supebrike Champion Shane Byrne goes into this weekend’s Silverstone round in a more positive from of mind after a good test at Knockhill yesterday.

The PBM Kawasaki man had two disappointing outings at Assen which saw Josh Brookes extend his lead to 28 points with 100 left on the table but Byrne is determined to bounce back at the Northamptonshire track.

"As a team we know that we needed to regroup after Assen and come back stronger because that is what we do. Myself and the team couldn't be working any harder to get back to winning again and the test we had today was good as we could work on some of the areas we knew we needed to improve,” said Byrne.

"Our pace was strong and we have a good idea on what we need to work on when we arrive at Silverstone. We managed to get through a lot of stuff in such a short space of time that we wouldn't normally get the chance to try during a race weekend, so we hope to start at Silverstone in a better position.

"There is nothing more that we want as a team than to win the two races at Silverstone on Sunday because we are not happy unless we are winning.”
