Former British Superbike Evo rider Josh Day will replace the injured Luke Mossey at Smith's Triumph for this weekend's British Supersport races at Cadwell Park.
The youngster, who was left without a ride when his AIR Kawasaki team collapsed a few weeks ago, will stand in for Mossey who crashed heavily at the Brands Hatch round. Dan Cooper, who also rides for the Smiths team, will also watch from the sidelines as he was injured in the same accident.
"It's not nice having to sit out and watch and i have been there myself with injuries so I just hope they recover as soon as possible. However, this is a great opportunity for me that was impossible to turn down," said the 2010 National Superstock 600 Champion
"Looking back on things Supersport would have been the natural step up from winning the Superstock 600 Championship but what happened in Superbike is now in the past, I can’t wait to get out on the Smiths Racing Triumph and enjoy riding a 600 again. I can't thank the team enough for the chance and I'm looking forward to a positive weekend for us all.”
