Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki’s Keith Farmer is resorting back to his original bike settings from when his team tested at Cadwell Park earlier this year, with the aim of lapping consistently quick times for the MCE British Superbike qualifying tomorrow afternoon.

The Clogher native found that he was lapping 29 flat last time he was out on the Lincolnshire circuit, and has not regained the good feeling that he felt with his Kawasaki in the two practice sessions today. Farmer admitted that he struggled to get into the 29’8’s and needs the weather to improve for the morning.

“We tested here earlier in the year and we are not getting the same feeling that we had before so we have gone back to the original settings that we had as I was lapping consistently 29 flats earlier in the year and now I struggled to do a 29’8. Hopefully we don’t get these in between conditions tomorrow," said Farmer, speaking to bikesportnews.com at the circuit.

In the first free practice session Farmer was only two tenths of a second behind team-mate Shane Byrne’s lap time, and both rider’s ended the morning fifth and sixth fastest respectively. The Northern Irishman does not want another tow off the current champ during qualifying tomorrow, as he wants to do things his way.

“I am always a better racer than qualifier and we will see how free practice three goes and then get into qualifying and if I have to I will have to get a tow off Shakey again but I don’t particularly like doing that as I like to do things off my own back so then I know where I stand.”
