Cadwell BSB: HM Plant use KR swingarm for extra sidegrip

HM Plant Honda have finally taken delivery of a set of KR swingarms for this weekend's British Superbike round at Cadwell Park in order to increase sidegrip for corner exit and entry.

Machined from billet, the swingarms were ordered four months ago but turned up at the team's Louth headquarters in time for their home race. The team had planned to test them back to back against the stock items but rain yesterday scuppered that plan, according to boss Havier Beltran.

"We have had them on order for a little while and have been able to use them this weekend. The main reason for them is to increase sidegrip on entry and exit for Shane and Kiyo. Normal, straightline grip is great with the standard swingarm but we just needed a bit of extra when the bikes are on their sides," he said, speaking to bikesportnews.com this morning.

"The plan had been to try them back to back yesterday but it rained and we couldn't. They appear to be working for both riders as the moment but we will see how the day pans out."
