National Superstock 600 front runner Glenn Irwin has settled in with the CN Racing team for the rest of 2011 after a turbulent season of team changes and will ride for the squad at Cadwell Park's British Superbike round this weekend.
Irwin had been left without a ride for the remaining four rounds of this year’s championship due to financial setbacks, the Hebden Bridge-based CN Racing team have stepped in to make sure that the youngster from Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland has the best possible chance of retaining his top three standing in the ultra-competitive Metzeler National Superstock 600 Championship.
“I really can’t thank CN Racing enough for this opportunity. Dwayne for bringing my situation to the attention of the team and to Chris and Julia for making it happen just when I thought my season could be over. When I got taken out at Brands I knew the damage would make it impossible for me to find the budget required to continue with Gearlink so to have this chance is fantastic and I intend to make the best of it," said Irwin.
"I’ve been over to the workshops and I’m really impressed with the set-up and the team’s professionalism. Dwayne has a lot of experience at a very high level of racing and I’m also looking forward to learning from my new team-mate, Taylor. I’m really excited about racing at Cadwell this weekend – so thanks again to all those who have helped me to get this far and the sponsors that have stuck by me – I’m feeling confident and ready to race.”
