Splitlath Aprilia's Karl Harris finally got to race for his new team this weekend at Cadwell Park in the MCE British Superbike Evo Class after the postponement of Oulton Park, picking up points in both levels of the championship for all three races.
Due to John Simpson dislocating his should in morning Supersport warmup he was unable to take any further part in the weekend events. It was a different scenario for Harris who started from 20th on the grid for two of the races and 18th for the final race of the day. The Sheffield rider did a hatrick of fourth place finishes in the Evo series as well as picking up two 15th's and a 14th position in the main championship.
After joining the team at the last round his first race was delayed due to the weather conditions but the wait has been worth it for all. Harris said: “I’m pleased with that, I don’t think I could’ve done any more out there so I’m over the moon with three fourth places.
"We’re running with a standard engine in our Aprilia and to be up there not too far off those WFR bikes is great. I think we’ve really turned the corner now with the bike and it’s an exciting way to head into the final few rounds. I think we can be challenging for the podium next time out.”
