Cadwell BSB: Points the aim for crocked Ellison

GBmoto Kawasaki’s James Ellison is back in the MCE British Superbike championship and has been passed fit to ride after sustaining a nasty leg injury at Brands Hatch a few rounds ago. The Kendal rider has been out of action for over a month, and made his returning to the series during today’s free practice sessions at Cadwell Park.

Getting as many points as he can is the aim for Ellison. Before his injury he was in Showdown contention - third in the overall championship standings, but has now slipped out of the top six, but hopes to get more points this weekend. The rider has undergone extensive hyperbaric chamber and physiotherapy sessions, in what has been a frustrating few weeks for Ellison.

“It is hard work out there, but I need to remain positive because I have been out of action for four and a half weeks and my fitness is obviously not 100 percent. I have been having physio on the leg and I have been using the hypobaric chambers which have helped,” said Ellison, at the track.

“But I have just been feeling frustrated as I haven’t been able to do something that I love. I would like to be back in the Showdown but my aim is to get as many points as I can over the weekend. But I also want my team-mate [Chris Walker] to get into the top six too.”
