Cartagena BSB test: Hutchinson happy with progress

FFX Yamaha’s Ian Hutchinson says he is happy with the progress made on day two of BSB testing at Cartagena and reckons he just needs bike time to further click with the satellite YZF-R1.

The eight-time TT winner got two laps in the 1’35s bracket today and hasn’t changed a huge amount in terms of set-up, just preferring to get laps under his belt.

“We started with the bike really soft, as it was when we finished Macau, so we needed to keep going harder and harder with it which didn’t feel quite right and the data has kept me sane, really,” said Hutchinson, speaking to bikesportnews.com at the circuit.

“Now the bike feels rally good and we got some laps in the 35s so it feels good. We won’t change much now, I just need some time on the bike. The Milwaukee boys are doing a lot of work, so we will just wait until we get it,” joked the Bingley man.
