Stockingford’s road racing ace, twenty two year-old Leon Jeacock will make the journey to North Yorkshire this weekend, to contest the third round of the Metzeler National Superstock 600 Championship.
Tackling the two mile long circuit for the first time Leon is relishing the prospect of Sunday’s race: “I’ve never ridden the Croft circuit before so I’m looking forward to Friday’s practice session to familiarise myself and to test the bike set up” said Leon.
After a disappointing result in the opening round at Brands Hatch when he was fetched off by a fellow competitor when looking a dead cert for a top ten finish, followed by a weekend of technical bugs in the second round at Oulton Park, Jeacock is hoping for a better result this weekend:
“The first two rounds have been bitterly disappointing” said Leon “the crash at Brands Hatch wasn’t my fault and then the problems with the wheel and tyre at Oulton Park destroyed my chances of any Championship points. Hopefully we have those issues sorted out now so I can focus on a top ten finish in Sunday’s race”.
Jeacock will once again sport the new iDAQ.com/BMC Racing Team colours, with free practice and the first qualifying session taking place on Friday, second qualifying on Saturday and the 14 lap race scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
