Samsung Suzuki's John Hopkins says he is very aware of the bumps waiting for him at Croft's British Superbike round this weekend and will treat the tricky Yorkshire track with the respect it deserves.
Hopkins, who returned to America for his mother's 60th birthday after Oulton Park and to fling himself out of perfectly good aircraft, tested at Croft in pre-season so knows where the difficult bits are but it can catch even the most seasoned team - as HM Plant Honda found out last year.
"Croft will be more of the same for me – more searching for the race lines, more learning about how BSB works. And hopefully more podiums. We came here during pre-season testing so I know something of the track," said the American.
"And I know to respect it. There are some tricky sections – really bumpy – so I'll not go too fast too soon. It's going to be a weekend of detailed study."
