A podium in Race One at Thruxton has Danny Kent firmly focused on claiming his first win of the season on Sunday.

After a difficult start to the 2025 British Superbike season, Danny Kent is now riding a wave of good form after a positive weekend at Brands Hatch.

The McAMS Racing Yamaha rider claimed two podiums last time out and has continued his run into Thruxton this weekend.

In the opening race of the weekend, Kent finished in second place after being beaten by Kyle Ryde across the 20-lap race.

"It was a tough one, temperatures were really high," Kent said after returning to the podium at Thruxton.

"The problem is we all have our game plans out there, and Thruxton always throws up some surprises. From what I have been told, though, it was great racing.

"I just wanted to get to the front as soon as possible and control it as much as possible. I felt when I was sitting behind people that I was having a few moments on the front.

"I am really happy to get another podium for McAMS Racing Yamaha, it was really important for us to get the full 20 laps under our belts.

"We can now go and look at the data and see what small changes we can make for tomorrow's races. Overall, I am just really happy to get another podium."

Heading into Sunday, Kent has his sights set on a return to the top step of the podium for the first time since Brands Hatch last season.

"I don't think that was the limit at all," he explained.

"I think it was very similar to Race One of last year, when you compare the pace from Race One to Race Three, the pace in Race Three was nearly 0.7 seconds a lap faster.

"It is just natural, though, we will all go back, open the laptops and see what small changes we can make. There is just one small error to work on, and if we get that done I feel I can fight for a win."
