At Brands Hatch, Danny Kent was able to return to a British Superbike podium for the first time since October 2024.
The start of the 2025 British Superbike Championship did not go as Danny Kent and the McAMS Yamaha squad expected.
After taking his first win in the series at the final round of the 2024 season, Kent was expected to be a title contender in 2025.
However, it took the 2015 Moto3 World Champion 10 races to feature inside the top five. But at Brands Hatch this weekend, his fortunes changed as he finished in fifth, third and second across the three races.
After his best weekend of the season, Kent was full of praise for his team after all their hard work so far this year.
"It has been an amazing weekend for me and McAMS Racing," Kent said after Race Three.
"First of all, I want to say a massive thank you to the team, they have been working so hard behind the scenes to try and get me the feeling that I have been chasing all year.
"Coming into the weekend, the team made some changes to the setup of the bike. But the results speak for themselves, so hats off to those guys.
"It all stemmed from Saturday with the fifth position, even though it was a strong race for me, compared to how the year started, I was still disappointed.
"I knew there were some areas we still needed to work on. Today, we got those sorted, so I could fight for podiums and wins. The team did a mega job of looking at the data and sorting things so I could go out there and fight.
"In the final race, it was basically the exit of Turn Two and a couple of other corners, where I would lose a lot of time. But around the rest of the circuit, I would gain a lot; it became a bit of a yo-yo.
"I just wanted to improve the bike in those areas so I could stay on the back of them. I am over the moon. It has been such a hard start to 2025, especially after the year that we had last year."
