In Race Three at Brands Hatch, Davey Todd scored his first point for the LEW 8TEN Racing BMW Motorrad squad.
It has been a difficult start to the season for the LEW 8TEN Racing BMW Motorrad Team, but at Brands Hatch, they got their first point on the board.
Davey Todd has been flying the 8TEN Racing flag on his own since Peter Hickman's crash at the Isle of Man TT back in May.
The 29-year-old missed out on the points in Races One and Two as he finished in 18th and 17th place, before picking up a single point after finishing in 15th in Race Three.
"It’s been a really positive weekend," Todd said after Round Five of the British Superbike Championship.
"We’re still testing and learning, but we’ve made a huge step with the bike this weekend. A single point might not be much, but I’m so happy and proud of all the boys in the team as we’ve had a horrendous start to the BSB season!
"I was in the mix all weekend with some strong lap times, and the good thing is that there’s plenty more to come. I’m not fully dialled in with the bike yet, but we have a good set-up to work with now and the next round should see small changes rather than big ones.
"The feeling of the bike’s getting better all the time so now we’ve got our first point, the aim is to keep improving."
Darren Jones, Team Manager, added: "All in all, we’ve made a good step forward this weekend. We’ve changed some fundamental things with the bike to give Davey a better feeling, and all the changes we’ve made have been positive and allowed him to go quicker all the time. And one of the best things is that he’s smiling and he’s happy!
"It’s good to get his first point and we know there’s plenty more to come as he’s only going to get better on the bike now he has a good feeling. The team have done a mega job, and we’ve also had a positive outcome with Pete’s surgery so we’re hopeful of getting him back on bike sooner than we thought."
