DONINGTON BSB: CHAMPIONSHIP LEADER GLOSSOP WINS AGAIN

Tim Hastings of KRP/Bradley Smith Racing took the lead, but it was his team mate pole position rider Martin Glossop who by the end of the first lap had moved ahead.  Following closely behind was James Lodge of KRP/Earnsaws Motorcycles in third.
On lap two Lodge moved up to second pushing Hastings down a place, Lodge continued to take another place and temporarily take the lead.  Glossop in his chase to regain a position made an error which pushed him down to fifth, but it wasn’t long before he returned to the front again a lap later.
Lodge and Hastings swapped places several but Lodge regained second, then on lap five Hastings went wide allowing Paul Jordan of KRP/Bradley Smith Racing to move into third.  Jordan then moved up a place in front of Lodge just before the rain hammered down stopping the race.
The sudden downpour of rain caused the race to be red flagged, but caught out four riders Ryan Saxelby of KRP/Bradley Smith Racing, Robbie Steward of Repli-Cast UK, Tom Hayward of KRP/Daniel Weston Racing and Shaun Horsman Symitry I.T North who created a pile up display at Coppice..
The riders returned on full wets for the continued seven lap race and were given two full laps in the warm up before battle commenced.  It was Glossop that took the lead ahead of Hastings into the first corner, but again Hastings got ahead to continue the battle from the first part of the race.
The rain certainly shook up the order of the riders, Taylor Mackenzie of MMCB Motorpoint, Lee Costello of Vent-Axia/www.sp125racing.com, Michael Hill of Taboo Motorsport and Corey Lewis of SL Racing all used the conditions to their advantage.
Taylor eventually crossed the line fourth overall along with taking the Cup win and Costello held on to his fifth place.  Hill finished sixth and a high following a strong weekend which has seen his lap times come day in each session.  Unfortunately Lewis crashed out of the race at Coppice, but not before he showed that he was not afraid to battle with anyone.
A couple of laps in Brian Clark of Banks Racing/Express Racewear really shook things up.  He gradually moved up to take the lead leaving Glossop and Lodge to battle for second which allowed Clark to pull away slightly.
As usual though, nothing is settled with the 125cc’s until the race has ended, it was all change when leading four riders piled into Melbourne loop and it was any ones guess who would come out on top.  It was championship leader Glossop who reigned, followed by Hastings, Lodge and Clark who astonishingly went from first to fourth.
Next lap around Hastings lost the rear of his Honda crashing out of second place and determining the podium standings for the final race of the day.  Glossop crossed the line in first place and Lodge held off Clark to keep his second.
Matthew Paulo of Paulo Racing finished seventh overall and second in the Cup category, with ninth man Peter Sutherland of Kinpac Racing taking the final trophy in the category.
