DONINGTON BSB: MCALEER KEEPS HER SEASON ALIVE WITH NEW SPONSOR

Megabikes ie’s Nicole McAleer can continue her Relentless British 125GP Championship in 2009 for a couple of more rounds due to obtaining a new sponsor.
The Omagh  rider originally could only enter the first four rounds, but after obtaining additional support McAleer will now be racing up until the sixth round at Knockhill, after that is yet to be decided.
Robin Martin of RM Productions, an executive producer of Classical Music Concerts has came into some additional money through the loss of a relation with which he wanted to use to support others in the motorsport industry.
Martin said: “I wanted to help the youngsters, help them in the 125cc and then build up to the top level which is BSB. It is a nice sport to be involved in and with the 125cc’s, what you see is what you get. Nicole is dedicated and committed, she is phenomenal with what she does.  Also her bike is always over here in the UK, but she travels each time from Ireland.”
McAleer will receive a monthly donation from Martin, but he will also be helping her with the promotional side of the business to help maximise her potential.  Martin so far this year has been to all three rounds and it was at Brands Hatch that he also decided to sponsor at the other end of the racing scale in the form of Gary Mason of Quay Honda Racing in the Visk British Superbike Cup.
Regarding her new sponsor and her season Nicole said: “It is absolutely brilliant, before we could only race upto Thruxton.  It is a big help and hopefully I will be able to carry on after Knockhill.”
“I’ve not had much luck this season, I was taken out of Brands Hatch and at Oulton we had this new fuel, I was down on power, I was pushing hard and crashed.  I have taken a second and half off my time this weekend.  In the race I won’t be happy unless I am above 20th, also I need points to earn money which I can give back to my Mum.”
McAleer only slightly missed out on her target by finishing 21st in the red flagged, two part wet race that eventfully rounded off the weekends racing.  She next ventures out onto track this weekend at the Thruxton to do what she loves the most.
