Glenn Irwin reacts to sudden split from Hager PBM Ducati

British Superbikes

After news broke of his surprise split from Hager PBM Ducati, Glenn Irwin has responded with his own statement.

On the fifth of August, Hager PBM Ducati announced that they would be parting ways with Glenn Irwin 'by mutual consent'.

Irwin had signed a two-year deal with Paul Bird Motorsport ahead of the 2025 British Superbike season after a successful 2023 and 2024 campaign with the team.

However, after a positive opening two rounds of the 2025 season, Irwin suffered serious injuries at Snetterton in June.

The 35-year-old had only recently declared that he would be returning from injury at Thruxton this weekend. But a dispute over his comeback date led to the sudden split.

After the Hager PBM Ducati squad put out their official statement regarding the news, Irwin posted his own video on his social media platforms.

"I am sure you have seen the news today that I have split with PBM," Irwin began in a video posted to his social media.

"Upon reading this statement, I want to reiterate that I have been declared orthopedically fit. I have passed all the stage one single-leg examinations, and I have returned to 100% full duties of riding bikes in the past seven days.

"I have been at Nutts Corner Circuit. I am riding again today. Training has been normal for the last week.

"But I do want to go on record and thank PBM for all the success that we have achieved together, their effort, time, support and love shown to me and my family.

"I wish them and Scott Redding all the best for the future, so good luck everybody."
