Glenn Irwin will be on a Yamaha R1 this weekend after signing for Nitrous Competitions OMG Racing for the remainder of the season.
The Nitrous Competitions OMG Racing squad will field a two-rider line-up this weekend at Thruxton as Glenn Irwin joins the team.
After splitting from the Hager PBM Ducati squad due to 'mutual consent' the Northern Irish rider will now compete for Nitrous Competitions OMG Racing for the remainder of the season.
The 2023 British Superbike runner-up will make the switch from the Ducati Panigale V4 R and will ride a Yamaha R1 for the first time in his career.
Irwin will now work alongside the reigning British Superbike Champion, Kyle Ryde, in a two-rider garage.
Team owner David Williams commented: "Nitrous Competitions OMG Racing are excited to have Glenn join the team. Between him and Kyle, we believe we have the strongest pairing on the current grid, and are entering the second half of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship season with a stronger sense of optimism than ever."
The Nitrous Competitions OMG Racing team have only been able to field Kyle Ryde across the opening five rounds of the season.
Despite difficulties at the start of the season, the team have still been competitive after winning a race and securing seven further podiums across 14 races.
Irwin took to social media to comment about his new deal with Nitrous Competitions OMG Racing, and said:
"Bloody hell, that was fast! My phone nearly blew up! So excited to join the reigning British Superbike Champions Nitrous Competitions OMG Racing, and team up with the champ Kyle Ryde."
