KGD Racing Triumph’s Luke Jones is extremely happy to have won the 2011 Triumph Triple Challenge at Donington Park especially especially considering that it was as close as two days prior to the season’s opener at Brands Hatch when he still had no ride for the year.
The Hereford rider dominated the series to take the title in the first race of the weekend at the last round of Donington Park. In addition to his triumph duties the soon to be 23 year old was also given the opportunity to ride for H M Plant Honda in the Superstock 1000cc’s for a couple of rounds.
After taking the championship title Jones is now awaiting further details about riding for T3 in Supersport next year, to what capacity is currently unknown but at least this means that keeping Jones in the paddock next season is promising.
Rounding up his season, Jones said: “It's been a great season for me, the Triumph is enjoyable to ride and the whole atmosphere in the TTC awnings has been friendly and relaxed. The prize for winning the championship is a ride in the Supersport cup next year with T3 racing but nothing has been confirmed as of yet. There are no more plans to ride with HM Plant but I would like to thank them for the opportunity. I would also like to give a big thank you to Ken from KGD, without his support none of this would have been possible.”
Jones will return to track this weekend at Silverstone to continue in the Triumph Triple Challenge looking to grab a couple more race wins and extend his current winning championship lead of 113 points.
