The Hager UK Managing Director has denied rumours that Tarran Mackenzie will join the Hager PBM Ducati squad.
After Tarran Mackenzie's split from the MIE Racing Honda squad was announced on the 26th of June, rumours suggested that the 2021 British Superbike Champion would be back on the British Superbike grid.
Initially, it was rumoured that Mackenzie would link up with the Hager PBM Ducati squad as the iconic British Superbike squad is looking for a 'suitable' replacement for Glenn Irwin whilst he recovers from injuries that he sustained at Snetterton.
However, the Hager UK Managing Director, Bruce Davies, took to X to deny any potential link-up between Mackenzie and PBM.
When discussing a potential return to British Superbikes for Mackenzie, Davies said: "Not with PBM".
He received several comments on his post, one of the comments urged PBM to use Mackenzie as a replacement rider and labelled the 29-year-old as 'the best option out there.
Davies then went on to respond to the comment, saying: "I nearly agree".
A second rumour started doing the rounds suggesting that PBM would be looking at bringing Danny Kent across from McAMS Yamaha, which would then see Mackenzie slot onto the 2015 Moto3 World Champion's vacant R1.
However, Davies inadvertently placed doubt on this rumour as well, as he went on to post on X that he does not know where Mackenzie is going, as there are "no empty seats" in British Superbikes.
Mackenzie has also confirmed that he has 'no plans going forward', which plays down the idea of a homecoming for the #95 at Knockhill next weekend.
But it also raises the question, who will replace Irwin next weekend in the Hager PBM Ducati squad?
