Hill happy with Cadwell BSB test despite crash

Swan Yamaha's Tommy Hill says he is in good shape for the next MCE British Superbike round at Cadwell Park despite a small crash in testing today at the Lincolnshire circuit.

The reigning champion was at Cadwell to re-familiarise himself with the YZF-R1 after riding a completely different version for the Suzuka Eight-Hours, plus there were a couple of niggling problems he wanted to iron out before the run into the Showdown begins next weekend.

Hill had a little off when he caught the engine cases on the left-hander at Hall Bends. He ran to get the bike but there was some lever damage and there nottime enough in the session to get it patched and back out.

"It was good to get back on my bike again after riding at Suzuka on a totally different setup and not the usual tyres. We did some work on a couple of small issues we needed to get sorted before the Showdown begins and the crash was one of those things - you never know what animal's out to get you in that section," said Hill, speaking to bikesportnews.com from 'a lovely little Italian in Louth'.

"You can't change the chassis just for Cadwell as it is completely different to the other four tracks we go to to finish the season off but we did some useful work and I am looking forward to getting stuck in."
