Swan Yamaha's Tommy Hill is set to try and break the pain barrier at this weekend's Croft British Superbike round by racing just two weeks after a massive Oulton Park highside saw him seriously damage his left shoulder.
The Lingfield man crashed on fluid left by Loris Baz's stricken R1 and a trip to the medical centre confirmed title challenger Hill had badly torn the ligaments on the top of his clavicle with a usual healing time of eight weeks...
"I have been on the mend since Oulton Park and doing everything I can to get back racing the Swan Yamaha. I have had laser treatment, magnotherapy and visited an oxygen chamber to basically do as much as I can. I have good movement in the shoulder and I have set myself the target of coming back this weekend at Croft as I want to get back on the podium for the Swan Yamaha team as soon as possible," said Hill.
"I have been resting up and I have some more treatment planned before the weekend, so we will have to see what happens. I just need to concentrate on getting out there and scoring as many points as I can for the championship. Depending on how the fitness test goes, which I hope we can pass as sometimes the positions you have to get in on the test are different to the bike, so hopefully this won't do even more damage, as I want to pass this, which will allow me to ride."
