Reigning MCE British Superbike Champion Tommy Hill will remain focused on the prize going into this weekend's Donington Park round, hoping to score maximum podium credits and capitalise on the likely absence of tital rival Shane Byrne.
The Surrey man currently has a nine credit lead over the Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki man who mashed his shoulder in a Cadwell Park crash last time out. Byrne, who has had surgery on the torn ligaments, will be at Donington and will make a fitness evaluation on Thursday
“We are going into this last round of the main season knowing that we are safe in the Showdown, but also that every podium credit counts and can make the difference between winning the title so we need to be aiming for those six credits," said Hill.
"We can use this round to try and keep moving forward, test some new settings so that we have tried what we need to before the first Showdown round at Assen. We haven’t tested at Donington and most of the other riders have, but that doesn’t faze me it just makes me hungrier. Ideally we can have another good weekend and get the Swan Yamaha back on the podium so we can be ready for the Showdown.”
