Hopkins 'honoured' to be considered for MotoGP stand-in rides

Samsung Suzuki's John Hopkins has turned down to potential MotoGP rides for next weekend's Silverstone race as a stand-in for injured Honda and Yamaha riders.

Hopkins, who is second in the British Superbike championship standings, has been contacted by Repsol Honda and Monster Yamaha in order to replace the injured Dani Pedrosa and Colin Edwards but he has politely declined.

"I'm so honoured to have even been considered for such top level MotoGP rides and yes a full time MotoGP ride is my future goal but I am contracted to Samsung Crescent Suzuki and I believe remaining 100% loyal and honouring my current commitments will pay off in the end," Tweeted Hopkins.
