Vickers was unable to fight for the Championship himself in the final round but did pick up seven race wins and seven further podium places throughout the season.

"It has been a good weekend," Vickers said after ending his BSB career. "I can't complain, I have ridden the best I possibly can. In that last race, I felt amazing on the bike, I can't take away anything, we have done a great job.

"It was not quite where we wanted to be, I would have loved to be fighting for the Championship. It just did not align this year and we tried our best at 100% all the time and we just fell short a little bit. We have shown this year that we can be a front-runner and we can be competitive consistently and one of the fastest guys on track at every circuit. I am really proud that we have 14 podiums this year, which is an incredible achievement.

"I am so happy for Kyle (Ryde) he has done an incredible job this year, to have that kind of consistency throughout a year is very difficult at this level. It is not an easy job and that is why he has been given the Championship, he has been riding amazingly.

"Especially in that last race, well all of us, we were on the limit everywhere, it was great, it was really good racing and we physically could not go any quicker. It was good to see the top two guys fighting for the Championship until the very end, two clean dry races. It was cool to be a part of, really proud of my season, really proud of the team and it is a great way to finish off my BSB career."
