Kyle Ryde and the Nitrous Competitions OMG Racing Yamaha squad claimed their first win of the season.

In the final race of the weekend at Brands Hatch, Kyle Ryde returned to the top step of the podium as he won his first race of the 2025 British Superbike Championship.

The reigning Champion was able to hold off Danny Kent in the latter laps of the race and secured his first win since his title win at Brands Hatch last season.

"It has been a long time coming, there has been a few races this year where I thought I could win," Ryde said after the final race at Brands Hatch.

"But I have not been at my best, or I made a mistake, or the bike did not feel good at the end.

"But I made the most of today really. I had a great Sprint Race behind Scott [Redding], the last two laps gave me a lot of encouragement for this afternoon's race.

"I got off to a good start, everyone was battling, and when Danny [Kent] passed Brad [Ray], I tried to catch him off guard and pass him on the same lap. I think that is what got me the win really.

"I sat behind Danny for a few laps, while everyone was trying to settle in. When it started raining, I made my move on Danny at the end of the back straight and then just went as fast as I could.

"I knew he would be able to keep up because he showed great speed today. But across the last two laps, I just had to defend; they weren't the quickest times, but I rode really well.

"I am really happy to take my first win of 2025, and since my last win came here in October, it has been a long time coming."

Next up for the British Superbike riders is Round Six of the season at Thruxton, a circuit where Ryde won a race last season.

"We had a good time at Thruxton last year, not amazing but it was solid," he explained.

"Every track we have been to up to now, I have been at a better speed than last year, so I am looking forward to it.

"There will not be any people pulling away, so it will be a dog fight on the last three laps like it normally is between 10 or 12 people."
