British Superbike rider Josh Brookes will return to the Suzuka 8 Hour this season with the Sakurai Honda team.

This year, Josh Brookes will return to the Suzuka 8 Hour with the Sakurai Honda squad, whom he raced for back in 2009.

The Australian rider has featured on the podium at the historic event twice during his career, in 2013 and 2016 with the Yoshimura Suzuki squad.

"This July, I’ll be returning to Japan to race the Suzuka 8 Hours with Sakurai Honda," Brookes said on social media.

"Suzuka is one of my favourite circuits, and I’ve raced the 8 Hours several times before, making the podium twice.

"I’ve also raced Suzuka with the Sakurai team back in 2009, so I’m pleased to be joining them again. We’ve just completed a successful 2-day test in both wet and dry conditions.

"The bike is working really well & it’s got good speed. There are two areas on the track we’ve highlighted where we can do a little work, but I feel this is just fine-tuning, and then we should be somewhere close.

"I’m looking forward to coming back, ready to race in a few weeks time."

Brookes is also competing in the 2025 British Superbike Championship for the DAO Racing Honda squad.

After two rounds into the 2025 season, Brookes finds himself in sixth place after five races. The Australian rider also found his way onto the podium at Donington Park as he finished in third place in the opening race of the weekend.
